Here's me exactly this time last year having a rare old time of it at Swinside Stone Circle. A magical place, and without doubt the highlight of my Cumbrian Stone Circle festival.Since stopping gas fitting, I don't feel the need so much to escape to these places. I suppose that's natural. I've nothing nasty to escape from anymore.
I fancy a return trip to Cornwall actually. Pisky led and pastie fed. I love it there, there are some real delights on the Land's End.

Anyway, Sebastian Faulks is going to write a Bond novel.
Wow!
I read his Birdsong a few years back, and I rate it as one of my favourites, I talked about it on my old weblog. . The book so moved me that last year I actually visited the Somme, and the fields around Beaumont Hamel mentioned in the book. I re-read it as I visited those places and it was incredibly moving.
He's an intense writer. I'm amazed and surprised and glad he's doing a Bond book. I'll be pre-ordering it.I've read a few more of his but Birdsong is the standout. An amazing book.Everyone's saying he's following in Raymond Benson's footsteps, (who wrote the most recent Bond books), Well, Benson wrote some good page turners but he also wrote some terrible pap too. I recently bought some of his Brosnan era movie tie-ins, and they're not good, not good at all. I'm rambling here. .

I've been playing piano. A lot. I played Thursday night in Shifnall, Friday in Codsall Wood, Saturday in Lichfield, Sunday at Pattingham dinnertime, and Codsall night-time. Monday at Essington. . I keep playing and the money's rolling in and I keep feeling like I've busted out of jail, not having to get up at seven thirty and put up with shite.

Remember that cow I told you about at the music school? Well I spoke to someone else who works there and I've found she is causing problems all round, being a bitch to all and sundry, treating everyone like four year olds. I feel vindicated somewhat - and I could offer my services and go back but I could earn more playing. So I don't know what to do. I quite liked teaching. I do have my own private lessons still, so I'm still teaching a bit.

It's late now. There's a lovely cool breeze blowing through the window and the candles are flickering around my Easter Island statue. The stars were out earlier but it's clouded over now. I'm going to walk up to the market tomorrow morning and buy some peanuts for the squirrels in the park.
Cheers! and love on 'ya!
