There's more to life than books, y'know!

The Piano Tuner didn't disappoint. It's certainly one of the better 'modern' novels I've read recently. Now I need another. I quite like historical fiction, and I've got a book set in the American Civil war I'd quite like to read if I can find it. I've got quite a few classics I've never read too. Great Expectations, and Moby Dick. I should give them a go. And why have I never dived into that big book of HG Wells short stories I bought from the second hand bookshop in Chapel Ash? Seeing how much I love his War Of The Worlds you'd think I'd be thrusting my nose in it without hesitation!

I played tonight and got all snobby in my mind when a table full of people with tattoos and loud cackly laughs came in. Then I felt guilty after for being so - when they complimented me on my playing. So that's not just me a snob, but a shallow snob.
I quite like my Thursday night slot. It's just a restaurant, nothing posh like my Friday regular, but a nice atmosphere all the same.

My friend Mark 'Crazy Arms' is in Cornwall now. He's not in the slightest bit interested in megalithicness or our pagan past. So imagine my surprise when he phoned me from the Hurlers Stone Circles on Bodmin Moor! (I know the site well). And today, he's at Trethvelly Quoit! He sent me a phone snap!
Next thing you know he'll be dowsing crop circles and buying a telescope!
But in all seriousness, I'd forgotten just how impressive Trethvelly is. Although I've been to the Hurlers many times, I've only once been to this great dolmen. I want to go back now!
And is there anywhere better than Bodmin Moor on a crisp clear September morning I wonder?
