My old weblog dated back four years, but I deleted the lot because I don't think it's to healthy to have so much of your life on-line. But every year I'd do 'highlights of the year' and waffle on about the best bits. This year's been different. Because of my change of circumstances, only the first part of the year wielded adventures, yet the greatest adventure started in May, when I stopped being a gas fitter and tried to earn my crust as a musician.
But, I've had a couple of lovely trips, to America (Minneapolis, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi). And Vienna, (with trips to Slovakia and Hungary no less!). So I'm a bit more well travelled I reckon.
In fact, if I take into account airport stop-overs, in 2007 I've also been to Germany, Holland and Switzerland. In fact, when I landed in Frankfort, I had some hours to spare, so I though "hell, if I walk around Frankfort a bit, I can say I've been there in earnest".
But all there was by the airport was an industrial estate, and I wandered round a bit bored and lost. So I went back to the airport and had a beer.
I think to say you've been somewhere, you have to at least have had a few hours there seeing things that are interesting, and not an aimless amble round some industrial units.
Anyway, here's Frankfort from the plane. You can see the Rhine.

And here's the castle in Bratislava. I climbed to the top and looked down on the old town and it was lovely, on such a clear sunny day too. As you can see.
Next year, Russia! Wow!
