911

I was at work being a gas fitter when the Trade Center Towers went down. I was doing surveys. I got to a house in Birmingham and the lady took ages to answer the door, when she did, she said "you won't believe what's happening on TV". I sat on the settee and we watched the live footage.
That afternoon I listened to the reports as I drove around. I remember where I was when the first tower went down.
Not long after I called at a house and said to the lady "have you been following the news about the Trade Center Towers?". She didn't even know what they were. This was Dudley though. .
I visited ground zero a couple of years back, it's quite the most haunting, eerie place. In one of my pictures you can see the 'crucifix' girders. As we were looking at the site a plane flew over.
When I landed at JFK, I could see the famous Manhattan skyline. Heck, I'd have loved to have seen the twin towers. The Empire State building is amazing to go up, but these babies were even higher!
What an incredible thing to happen.

I too remember exactly where I was when the Towers came down; I was at work and a coworker was concerned that her stocks & shares would go down in value. I couldn't believe it!!

I had visited there in 1999, I recently scanned in a photo of me doing the tourist thing. It really was SCARY high. See the Empire State Building in the background?
