Someone on the radio just said "it's a Nelson Mandella moment" about the Obama result. And yea, I suppose you do get a feeling of history being made. This morning, at least.
There's a feeling of hope and optimism about the result, and that can only be a good thing. I don't know what his policies are on the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan (has he said he's going to bring them back? I haven't heard that), but surely this whole prevailing optimism that's sweeping the States can only be a good thing?
It can't be anything other that good news. Even the most cynical must admit that?

Booked Amsterdam flights, be there before the month's out . . very excited! Which kind of reminded me how expensive travelling is, if you want to do it with any modicum of comfort.
