She shot me down

Alela Diane was wonderful last night at Birmingham Town Hall. In fact, the whole show was a bit magical and I'm so glad I went.
I first heard about Alela Diane when I heard her vocals on the Headless Heroe's The North Wind Blew South. It was the soundtrack to my Amsterdam trip last year. I heard it on the radio, and fell in love with it. It's great when that happens. You hear some new music and BANG, right away you love it.
I doesn't happen enough, but I must admit it happened again tonight when I heard a song called What Elliot Said by Megan Henwood.
I don't know anything about her, but I do know she's got an amazing voice and that song pushes all the right buttons for me. I downloaded it as soon as I got home and I'm listening to it now. Christ on a bike, it's bloody good.
Lucky me.

Saw three beautiful baby boy gerbils in the pet shop today, nearly came home with them.
Got to be careful with that stuff, I'm a sucker for anything small and furry with a twitchy nose.

Playing at a posh golf club over Sutton tomorrow. I'll take some sandwiches because it'll be a long day. And my birthday book, can't remember what it's called, it's in the van.

I'm not getting any weblog comments these days, is anyone still visiting? please say hello, you can be anonymous. I just like to think there's someone visiting, then I'll post more I reckon. My old weblog got shitloads of hits, but I get the feeling 'un' is falling on deaf ears. Perhaps that's a good thing?
Please click the 'comment' button and send me a 'I'm still here' message so I don't feel like hanging up my blogging boots, eh?
