Food not pints!

Before I moved to Wolverhampton, I lived in a quite poshish village. It was okay, but all my proper groovy friends lived in the town, so I wanted to live here. And here I do.
I went up town tonight. I don't go up often, at night, that is, because Chapel Ash is fine enough at night for what I want. But town is literally a twelve and a half minute brisk walk up hill, so I thought 'exercise with pint at end'. Splendid!
Because I'm (trying) to lose weight I didn't go out till after ten. A brisk walk up listening to Johnny Triumph and the Sugarcubes Luftguitar on my ipod, and I found myself in a Irish bar. Which is in the back streets, and run by proper Irish people, it's not a themed pub, it's an Irish bar.
So I had a Guinness and it was lovely. But there was little sign of there being a proper Irish 'session' - like I saw in Gallway and Cork a couple of years back. Instead, they were advertising karaoke nights with an Irish theme.
And they called it 'paddyaoke' fer chrissakes!
