Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy was in town the night before last and I was surprised just how much I enjoyed his glam/goth antics. The guy sure puts on a belter of a show, with his posing and pointing and feather boa. And seeing as I last saw him play in 1986, that means the next time we catch up I'll be 67 and he'll be 78. Jesus!
He covered Raw Power, did Ziggy and Bella Lugosi's Dead and it was smashing. Old goths were there, I got in on the guest list (it cost me two pints of cider mind!) and I'm off to find some cheap Bauhaus CDs on Amazon. He told the crowd to "be yourself" and they all cheered for individuality, I liked that.
Mind, he also told a few hecklers to 'fuck off', so it's swings and roundabouts I suppose.
I missed the recent PiL tour but I got a whiff of the promotional stuff in the Saturday up-market rags. At the Mount Hotel.. .

And lastly, camping is going fine, but I'm learning to stay away from field close to the West Midlands on Saturdays when kids are off school. It's not pretty.
6am Sunday, though, it was pretty tranquil.
